Create canvas

Set the full product area, then place a print area anywhere on it.

Canvas is the full product area (the screen). Background color, background PNG, and overlay PNG all fill that whole canvas. The print area is the smaller patch you can design on — it can sit anywhere, for example a 2×0.5 in imprint at the tip of a 10×2 in pen.

Canvas size — total area

The whole product face. A pen might be 10×2 in; a card might be 3.5×2 in; a coaster might be a 70 mm circle.

Print area — where artwork goes

Size of the imprint and where it starts on the canvas (from the top-left). On a 10×2 in pen, a 2×0.5 in print at the tip might start at X 8 in, Y 0.75 in.

Cut, bleed, and safe

Dotted print and safe guides are drawn by the editor. Do not bake those lines into background or overlay images.

Background and overlay

Both images stretch to the full canvas. Transparent PNG pixels stay open so the shopper can design through them. Overlay sits on top; background sits behind the print area.

PNG preferred. Transparent areas show the page color and stay editable. Do not include print/safe dotted lines in this file.

Choose what this canvas allows in the editor. Uncheck a tool to hide it for that product face — for example no image uploads on a text-only pen imprint, or no background color on a framed invite.
